Park History
The History of High Onn Village
High Onn is a charming hamlet located near Wheaton Aston in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside. Its roots are deeply embedded in the agricultural history of the region, with fertile lands historically supporting the cultivation of corn, beans, and pasture. The area’s rich soil made it a hub for farming, shaping the livelihoods of its early inhabitants.
Nearby, the Shropshire Union Canal played a significant role in the village’s history. Completed in the 19th century, this canal network transformed the local economy, connecting High Onn to larger trade routes and fostering commerce. Visitors today can still explore the canal's towpaths and enjoy the peaceful beauty of its surroundings.
High Onn also boasts architectural heritage, including High Onn House, a Grade II listed building, which stands as a testament to the area's historical importance. Together, these elements create a tapestry of rural charm and historical significance that defines High Onn.
The History of High Onn Holiday Park
High Onn Holiday Park was formerly known as High Onn Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, set across 16 acres of peaceful woodland, the park began its journey as a club-operated site. In March 2025, we have reopened under new ownership as High Onn Holiday Park offers 65 well-maintained pitches, including hardstanding and grass options, catering to a wide variety of needs both for short and seasonal stays. With modern amenities and a commitment to preserving the park’s natural surroundings, it strikes the perfect balance between comfort and rustic charm.
